Free since the end of his adventure with Genoa, Patrick Vieira is back in business, this time in the role of consultant.

After a brilliant football career which notably saw him win the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with the French team, Patrick Vieira chose to become a coach. The former midfielder has experienced several clubs, without ever managing to truly shine. Having left Genoa last November, he has since been free from any commitment. He has just found a new mission.

As the 2026 World Cup looms more and more clearly, Patrick Vieira has been integrated into the system put in place by ITV. Co-broadcaster of the competition with the BBC in the United Kingdom, the British channel revealed on Wednesday the names of the journalists and consultants who would be on air.

And on the consultant side, the former Arsenal midfielder has found his place. And he won’t be alone since former Manchester United figures Roy Keane and Gary Neville will be there. Another Arsenal legend will be present, in the person of Ian Wright.

Patrick Vieira has already been a consultant

Coach of Tottenham last season, Ange Postecoglou also joins the team of consultants alongside Juan Mata, who worked for Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League. Former Arsenal player Lee Dixon will also bring his analytical skills.

For Patrick Vieira, this media interlude will not be the first since he was on the microphone of DAZN to comment on Ligue 1 in 2024. He also worked as a consultant for beIN Sports during Euro 2021.
