After the title won by FC Barcelona at the expense of Real Madrid, Gavi was questioned by Mundo Deportivo about the affair which shook the end of the Merengues season, the altercation between Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde in the locker room after training.
Described as “natural and sincere”, the Spanish midfielder of Barça did not evade the question.
“ I am one of those who think that there will always be friction with teammates in training, at one point or another during the season,
Gavi replied first. It’s inevitable, it’s competition, and it’s even rather positive, to a certain point. »
Tchouaméni should not have played the Clasico…
“But if it escalates into a fight, then the coach shouldn’t have played him,
added the player. If it’s true that they came to blows, then in my opinion it was a mistake to play him (Tchouaméni). But I don’t really know what happened. »
Gavi therefore believes that Aurélien Tchouaméni should have been sanctioned more heavily by being deprived of the Clasico which followed on Sunday evening. As a reminder, the two Madrilenians were fined 500,000 euros. Hit in the head, Valverde withdrew from the trip to Barcelona, where Tchouaméni was the starter.
