Author of a rather good second part of the season with PSG including decisive goals in the Champions League, Ousmane Dembélé is still cited as a serious contender in the race for the Ballon d’Or. This will need to be confirmed during the World Cup which is coming this summer. Still, the Frenchman necessarily aims to do the back-to-back.
In an interview given to RMCOusmane Dembélé confirmed his desire to win the trophy a second time. “When you win once, you want to win several times but I already put the collective first of course. The most important thing is to be able to win the Champions League. And I also have a goal that has been in my head for a very long time with the France team: to have a very big World Cup. And then we’ll see. (…) I try, on each ball and each match to give the best of myself, to try to improve all the balls I have, to set an example… These last two years, it has worked for me. The coach spoke to me and told me that I had an important role for the team: to set an example, whether to the oldest or the youngest. And I want to continue to perform well in small or big matches. I’m hungry to score goals, make assists and win trophies.”
