Trained at Paris Saint-Germain, Fabio Domingos is going through an incredible international imbroglio a few weeks before the 2026 World Cup. A long-time Luxembourg youth international, the 20-year-old left winger, renowned for his one-on-one skills and his performances with the Parisian U23s, was nevertheless summoned last March by the Red Lions coach, Jeff Strasser. But there was a twist since a few hours later, the Cape Verde federation announced that the player would finally join the Blue Sharks, taking advantage of a friendly match to honor his first selection against Finland.

A choice which seemed to definitively seal his international future… until this new surprise. This Monday, coach Bubista did not include Fabio Domingos in the official Cape Verdean list for the 2026 World Cup. An unexpected absence for the man who embodied one of the great offensive hopes of the Cape Verdean selection. Enough to revive speculation around a possible return to Luxembourg, the country where he was born and which he represented from the U16s to the Espoirs. Can the Red Lions still recover Parisian talent? The prospect of playing in a World Cup weighed heavily in the decision of young PSG Titi.
