A few weeks before the 2026 World Cup, Algeria is finalizing its preparation with a final friendly match now in place.

Less than a month before the 2026 World Cup, Algeria’s preparations are entering their home stretch. Already scheduled for a prestigious friendly match against the Netherlands on June 3 in Rotterdam, Vladimir Petkovic’s men are still fine-tuning their schedule before the big world meeting.

According to La Gazette du Fennec, the Algerian Football Federation has now found its ultimate opponent. The information was confirmed by Silvio Fontana, responsible for organizing friendly matches for the Bolivian Federation. “ It is confirmed with Scotland for June 6 and with Algeria on the 10th. Iran remains to be confirmed for the 3rd; this will be decided between Monday and Tuesday at the latest”he said in comments relayed by the Bolivian daily El País.

Thus, after the shock against the Dutch, Algeria should face Bolivia in the United States, probably in Kansas City, where the Fennecs will set up their base camp during the competition. A meeting which will serve as a dress rehearsal before entering the World Cup against Argentina on June 17 at 3 a.m.

A match already seen

The Bolivian selection also remains in a frustrating qualifying campaign, stopped during the intercontinental play-offs against Iraq (2-1). Currently 76th in the FIFA rankings, she represents an opponent already well identified by Algerian coach Vladimir Petkovic, who knows her strengths and limitations perfectly.

Indeed, Bolivia was the very first opponent of the Greens under the Petkovic era, in March 2024 in Algiers. This inaugural match, won 3-2 by Algeria, marked the start of a cycle. Two years later, the two teams find themselves in a very different context, just a few days before the major world meeting.
