As the 2026 World Cup approaches, scheduled for June 11 to July 19, France is entering a zone of turbulence. While the list of 26 players selected by Didier Deschamps has just been revealed, several French executives are already raising serious concerns on a physical level.
First potential hard blow: Manu Koné. The AS Roma midfielder felt muscle discomfort during training this week, an alert which could call into question his participation in the World Cup if the injury were to be confirmed, according to Sky Italia. Spared for the derby against Lazio, he should however be able to finish the season with the Roman club.
Dembélé and Tchouaméni question
Another source of concern, Ousmane Dembélé. Starting with Paris FC during the 2-1 defeat, the winger had to leave his partners in the 27th minute after feeling pain in his calf. According to RMC And League 1+no serious injuries have been confirmed at this stage, but his physical condition will need to be closely monitored in the coming days.
Finally, the Aurélien Tchouaméni case also attracts attention. Hit during Real Madrid’s victory against Sevilla (1-0), the French midfielder was forced to leave during the match. His trainer Alvaro Arbeloa, however, wanted to be reassuring: “Vinicius left with some discomfort, Aurélien (Tchouaméni) too. No serious injuries »he said at a press conference. A few weeks before the big departure for the United States, Didier Deschamps must therefore deal with a fragile medical situation around several executives.
