Manchester City is the roller coaster

Winner of Chelsea this Saturday in the FA Cup final (0-1), Manchester City won the competition for the 8th time in its history.

Author of a particularly disappointing season, Chelsea failed to win a trophy which would have done them the greatest good. Opposed this Saturday to Manchester City in the FA Cup final, the Blues were beaten by the smallest of margins (0-1). For the Skyblues, on the other hand, it’s a coronation that feels good, before perhaps managing to steal the English championship title from Arsenal?

While waiting for the outcome in the league, Pep Guardiola’s men have therefore validated the eighth FA Cup in the club’s history. The first period was rather balanced. Erling Haaland saw his 27th minute goal canceled for an obvious offside by Matheus Nunes. The Norwegian came up against Robert Sanchez (44th) a little later.

On the London side, there were also opportunities during the first act. Joao Pedro stood out for the first time (23rd), but above all could have benefited from a penalty just before returning to the locker room after a push from Abdukodir Khusanov (45th + 2). The referee let it play.

Rayan Cherki, second trophy with Manchester City

Already active in the first period, Antoine Semenyo continued to be active at the restart, with a header just above the target (48th). The persistence of the Ghanaian from City ended up paying off and it was he who opened the scoring with a superb Madjer from the right (0-1, 72nd). A few moments later, Enzo Fernandez believed in the equalizer, but his deflection from the right on a set piece went over the bar (74th).

Manchester City finished like a cannonball by accumulating huge chances (84th, 85th, 86th), but nothing more was scored. The 145th edition of the FA Cup is therefore for Rayan Cherki and his partners. For the former Lyonnais and his team, it is already the second trophy of the season after that of the League Cup.
