Figure of German football and Bayern Munich, Manuel Neuer announced this Friday that he was extending his contract until 2027.

The party continues for Manuel Neuer. While he celebrated his fortieth birthday on March 27, the German goalkeeper is not decided to put his crampons and gloves in the closet. This Friday, the Bayern Munich player announced that he was extending for another season with the Bavarian club.

Manuel Neuer will therefore wear the Munich colors at least until June 2027. He confirmed this on his social networks by posting a long message. “I am very happy to stay at Bayern Munich for another year. Looking back, I had almost fifteen fantastic years there and I appreciate every moment spent working with this team, this staff and the whole club. »

And the German international added that this extension was “an obvious decision after a period of reflection”. For its part, Bayern Munich was also delighted with the continuation of this collaboration. Club general manager Jan-Christian Dreesen sang the praises of his player.
“We will still talk about this goalkeeper, this captain and this personality for many years to come. »

At the same time, the manager indicated that Manuel Neuer’s understudy at Bayern, Sven Ulreich, had also decided to extend by one year while his contract ended next June. “We are very happy that Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich, the epitome of reliability, will stay with us for another season. This goalkeeping duo is one that will go down in the history books. »

Trained at Schalke 04, Manuel Neuer joined Bayern Munich in the summer of 2011. The 2014 world champion with Germany notably won thirteen Bundesliga championship titles, two Champions Leagues and five German Cups with the Bavarian team.
