This is called an express integration. Arriving in Anjou last fall when he was in dire need of preparation, Amine Sbaï (24) did not take long to put Ligue 1 at his feet. Aligned against championship leaders, the attacking midfielder responded spectacularly. Holder during the good draw against AS Monaco (1-1) in mid-October, he then did it again by dominating Lorient (2-0) by delivering a superb assist. But it was above all his resounding entry into play at the Vélodrome against Olympique de Marseille that left its mark: a dazzling acceleration followed by a series of confusing dribbles to offer the equalizing goal to Ousmane Camara (2-2).

A performance which impressed Roberto De Zerbi who would have been happy to recruit Sbai in addition to Himad Abdelli this winter. If he is not the most decisive player in Ligue 1 on a purely statistical level, his technical prowess and his ability to create differences make him, intrinsically, one if not the best current player in the Angevin squad.

This dynamite profile, right-handed playing on the left wing (but capable of helping out on the right or in false 9), is a real boon for his coach. Alexandre Dujeux is also full of praise for his recruit, believing that she embodies exactly what his team was missing. The technician praises his technical touch, his dribbling side, his desire to attack the surface, as well as his composure in the last meters. He highlights how difficult it was to find such a key piece between two transfer windows, thus offering the player a central role in his discovery of the elite.

This great success is a magnificent revenge for a player with a winding career, to say the least. Born in Sidi Kacem in Morocco and arriving in France at a very young age, Amine Sbaï trained at Nîmes Olympique before taking the side roads. Passed through Alès (N3) then Sète (National), he only discovered the professional world at the age of 21 with Grenoble. After a solid Ligue 2 season in the Alps (6 goals, 3 assists), he gave in to the lure of Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2024 by signing for Al-Fateh. An adventure cut short at the end of September 2025 with the termination of his contract.

His profile is popular in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga

It was at this precise moment that Laurent Boissier, the sports director of the SCO, smelled the masterstroke a few months after trying to enlist him in 2024 without being able to compete financially with the Gulf. An agreement was quickly reached for a two-year contract. Boissier admits to having been surprised by his rapid adaptation, while emphasizing that his time in a Saudi championship filled with world stars like Benzema or Cristiano Ronaldo made him grow and gain confidence. A confidence that he radiates today to all of his teammates, coupled with a mentality considered extraordinary internally.

Obviously, such an eliminator profile, formidable in one-on-one situations, does not leave you indifferent. His recent performances against Monaco, Marseille and Lens have caught the eye of many recruiters. According to our information, several Ligue 1 clubs are following the development of this matter with great attention, impressed by its technical range. The Bundesliga is also on the case, with German clubs particularly keen on this type of impactful winger. Under contract with SCO Angers until June 2027, Amine Sbaï, whose value is estimated at €2.5 million on Transfermarkt, is already shaping up to be one of the big attractions of the coming months on the transfer market.
