If Arsenal won a crucial victory against West Ham on Sunday, the Gunners lost Ben White to a serious knee injury.

Arsenal suffered on Sunday at West Ham. Like PSG against Brest, the Gunners had to wait until the last minutes of the match to win 1-0 thanks to a goal from Leandro Trossard, thus maintaining a five-point lead over Manchester City with certainly one more game.

The London club nevertheless paid a heavy price for this victory: Ben White injured his knee shortly before the half-hour mark in contact with Crysencio Summerville along the touchline. Having remained on the ground for a long time, the English defender was released, replaced by Martin Zubimendi.

And now less than three weeks before the Champions League final against PSG on May 30 in Budapest, concern is in order for the Gunners player. Grimacing as he returned to the locker room, Ben White limped low at the end of the match, his knee in a splint, and had tears in his eyes.

Mikel Arteta’s concern

The concern is all the greater as the English full-back is not his first knee injury. He was injured in this same knee for a long time last season and was still complaining about it at the start of winter when he played a series of matches.

Mikel Arteta was not very confident at the end of the meeting. “We don’t know, but he doesn’t look good at all, so he’ll probably need more tests tomorrow and I’ll know a little more.” he confided, specifying that Ricardo Califiori was also injured against the Gunners.

Ben White’s injury comes as Jurrien Timber may not play again this season. The Dutch defender has been out of action for almost two months due to a groin injury and is struggling to recover. I don’t know, there’s still a long way to go. Everything must go without a hitch and very quickly so that he can compete even for a few minutes,” he explained about him on Saturday.
