Arsenal take first option for the title. After Manchester City’s victory against Brentford on Saturday (3-0), Arsenal absolutely had to win to maintain their lead with two days remaining. But it was still necessary to get rid of West Ham, still fighting to maintain their position and wanting to win at home to get out of the red zone. The Gunners, however, dominated the first period, notably hitting the uprights at the start of the match (9th), before seeing Mavropanos make a save on his line (19th). But shortly before the break, White’s injury changed the dynamic of the match and the Hammers began to put pressure on, with a huge opportunity for Castellanos, diverted by Raya (45th).

Less rhythmic, the second half nevertheless proved decisive for both teams. West Ham pushed to open the scoring, with a big opportunity for Fernandes, once again repelled by Raya (78th). An almost decisive stop in the race for the title, since Arsenal then woke up and opened the scoring straight away thanks to a recovery from Trossard (1-0, 83rd). The Gunners are now five points ahead with two days remaining, even if the Skyblues still have a game in hand to play against Crystal Palace. On the other hand, this defeat places West Ham in a delicate situation: a victory for Tottenham against Leeds on Monday evening would leave the Hammers four points from remaining, even though they thought they had equalized on the last action, but a foul had been reported on Raya (90th+6).
