Mercato: the risky decision taken by PSG

The land first. Qualified for its second consecutive Champions League final, PSG has set its priorities, namely to fulfill its sporting objectives before focusing on the question of the contractual situations of its players. In recent months, the Parisian management had started negotiations with several players under the influence of the trio Nasser al-KhelaĂŻfi, Luis Campos, Luis Enrique.

We think in particular of the case of Ballon d’Or Ousmane DembĂ©lĂ©, whose contract expires in 2028, or those of Bradley Barcola and Kang-in Lee, also linked to the club for two more years. There is also the Senny Mayulu case, more urgent since the Parisian titi arrives one year from the end of his contract, and he remains courted almost everywhere in Europe.

A situation that can open the door to other clubs

But as revealed The Team this Saturday, the capital club chose to stop everything for the moment. “We had been discussing for nine months, there had been proposals. We have discussed many times and some cases have even already been successful (Beraldo, Neves, Pacho, Fabian Ruiz…). The others require time for reflection. When we enter the period of “real” matches, we no longer discuss. It serves no purpose other than creating friction.”indicates a PSG source.

No more meetings are now scheduled before the Champions League final. A choice that is understood, but which can also have its limits. This period may leave the possibility for other clubs to take steps, especially for players who are in high demand. We think in particular of Barcola, followed in England and who today must be content with a role of 12th man in Paris. But for the agents of the players concerned, this situation can also have its advantages since in the event of a coronation, they would find themselves in a position of strength when renegotiating the contracts of their players.
