At the dawn of a crucial clash between Lens and PSG scheduled for next Wednesday, Pierre Sage wanted to clarify the ambitions of his team. After the victory against Nantes this Friday (1-0), he put a definitive end to the title hopes despite a second place now secure. Before this summit meeting, the Artesian club is in 2nd place with 67 points, temporarily trailing the Parisian leader by three lengths (70 pts), who also have a match in hand.

At the microphone of League 1+Pierre Sage gave up his arms: “second place is validated. We need the Coupe de France now. PSG? Tomorrow, they have a match which will allow them to celebrate qualification for the Champions League final, to validate the title with the goal average. I don’t think they will deprive themselves of such a chance. We tried to push them to their limits. We missed a few turns in our season which is imperfect. To outclass them, you have to have a perfect season. Well done to them, they managed to win another title and surely a second Champions League.» You will have understood, Lens is now focused on the quest for its first Coupe de France against Nice.
