Eliminated in the semi-finals of the Conference League on Thursday against Rayo (0-1), RC Strasbourg also offered a lunar sequence after the final whistle, when the players presented themselves in front of the Meinau kop.

The RC Strasbourg team is certainly very young, but the Conference League semi-final return, lost to Rayo Vallecano (0-1), Thursday, a week after a first defeat in Madrid (1-0), gave rise to friction between teammates. During the penalty obtained by the Alsatian team in added time of the match, Julio Enciso and Martial Godo bickered. The Ivorian winger came to claim the ball from the Paraguayan attacking midfielder, visibly designated as the first shooter in the absence of center forwards Joaquin Panichelli and Emanuel Emegha.

The two injured attackers were present at Meinau and Emegha, appointed captain at the start of the season, led a lunar scene at the final whistle. Gary O’Neil’s players greeted their supporters after their catastrophic performance but were not applauded once gathered in front of the stadium kop, which had given a lot during the meeting (except during the first 15 minutes of silence to protest against the owner BlueCo).

The Strasbourg captain takes matters into his own hands…

Emanuel Emegha first clashed with Diego Moreira, who was trying to hold him back. The Belgian winger returned to the locker room, leaving his partners. The Dutch striker, in civilian clothes, then took off his sunglasses and asked the supporters to give the players a standing ovation. Failed, Emegha himself applauded his teammates…

Then passing by the Canal+ set on the pitch, Diego Moreira explained: “I arrived, I saw the supporters who were angry, who were insulting, there was no need, to be honest I know Emanuel’s situation at the club, I just tried to avoid a bigger conflict. He’s a man, a great player, he tried to defend us, I tried not to add more problems. »
