The Algerian team begins its 2026 World Cup against Lionel Messi’s Argentina on June 16 in the United States, and Greens supporters in France will not be able to watch the match for free.

It had obviously gone unnoticed, but the three matches of the Algeria team at the 2026 World Cup in North America will not be broadcast by M6. The TNT channel will broadcast 54 posters in Canada, Mexico and the United States, ignoring the meetings scheduled in the middle of the night Paris time. For football fans, you will therefore have to go to beIN Sports to follow all the matches of the tournament.

M6 thus did not select the clash of the first week of the World Cup between the Algerian selection and Lionel Messi’s Argentina, on June 16 in Kansas City, at 8 p.m. in the Chiefs’ den and at 3 a.m. on the night of the 16th to the 17th in France. A contested choice while Riyad Mahrez’s Greens are obviously extremely followed in France, as confirmed by the superb beIN audiences during the last African Cup of Nations.

Algeria, the 2nd match at 5 a.m.

“Unfortunately, at 3 a.m., even if a lot of people can wake up, there will not be as many people as at other matches that we have chosen”explained Guillaume Charles, the general director of programs at M6, on Wednesday during a press conference presenting the channel’s commentators for the 2026 World Cup (Benoît Cheyrou, the 2018 world champion Samuel Umtiti and François Clerc).

The two other matches in the first round of the Algerians led by Luca Zidane (if he is restored) will also be played in the middle of the night in France, even later than during the opposition with the reigning world champions. Algeria-Jordan in San Francisco will be broadcast on beIN Sports from 5 a.m., on the night of June 22 to 23, and the probable decisive match against Austria, again in Kansas City, will begin at 4 a.m. French time.
