The former French team scorer said he was impressed by the potential of the French team and its results since the 1998 coronation.

Barely more than a month before the start of the World Cup, the Blues are among the main favorites for final victory. Consequence in particular of its incredible offensive potential. Because if Hugo Ekitike will be missing due to his serious Achilles tendon injury, the French team will show up with Michael Olise, Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué and obviously Kylian Mbappé.

However, France is not the only one that can harbor big ambitions in the run-up to the World Cup. According to Thierry Henry, three nations emerge. “Above all, we must respect Argentina, the reigning champion. It’s still a strong team, with Messi’s number 10, he thus confided in the columns of Marca. Then there is France, we have a great selection and we reached the last two finals, and then there is Spain. What fascinates me is that, regardless of the players in their squad, the team always plays the same way: an attractive style, and it is very difficult to take the ball away from them. »

The former Gunner nonetheless underlined the good results obtained by the French team since its first coronation in 1998.
“What our country has accomplished is remarkable. In the last seven World Cups, we have reached four finals (1998, 2006, 2018 and 2022). It’s incredible. I am very optimistic, yes”he noted.

Thierry Henry also impressed by Portugal

The one who will commentate on the World Cup for CBS also said all the good things he thought of Spain. “If we compare the generation of 10-15 years ago, the one that won the World Cup (in 2010), with the current one, we are impressed by what Spain produces,” he whispered.

But according to the former coach of the French Olympic team, other nations will be worth watching. “I love the Portuguese midfielder: João Neves, Bernardo Silva, Vitinha, Bruno Fernandes… With Nuno Mendes and the others behind them… And in front, they have the monster (Cristiano Ronaldo Editor’s note). I think this team deserves respect, he said. Not to mention England, the potential return of Brazil, Norway, Senegal… the new Germany… In reality, a lot of things can happen in the World Cup, and it all depends on injuries, draws, etc. »
