Regularly targeted by various criticisms, Kylian Mbappé is even sometimes called into question in the France team. A debate that annoys some.

Accustomed to being in the spotlight since his emergence at the highest level, Kylian Mbappé continues to be the center of attention, even more so since he joined Real Madrid. With the Merengue, he is still running behind a first major title and the Spanish media regularly make headlines about it. As for the French team, certain questions arise according to the comments of certain observers. Pierre Ménès gave his clear opinion.

The former Canal Football Club troublemaker was questioned this Monday by one of his followers on his YouTube channel. The latter asked him to react to these famous challenges, both on the positioning and on the status of captain of Kylian Mbappé among the Blues. What greatly annoyed Pierre Ménès who swept away the Bondynois slayers with the back of his hand.

“I’m not going to disappoint those who think I’m the number one lawyer in (Kylian) Mbappé. I find this debate scandalous and inappropriate. » And Pierre Ménès targeted a commentator in particular. “This debate was especially launched by Mbappé’s ‘hater number one’ in France, Jérôme Rothen. Poor Jérôme Rothen who no longer knows what to do to denigrate Mbappé. » Having said that, Pierre Ménès mentioned two other major players who are in full swing on the French side: Michael Olise and Ousmane Dembélé.

Pierre Ménès defends Kylian Mbappé

Since the Bayern Munich player and the PSG player are often highlighted by those who criticize Kylian Mbappé, the former journalist from L’Équipe spoke about it.
” Effectively, (Michael) Olise and
(Ousmane) Dembélé had magnificent matches with Bayern and PSG (…), but we are talking about the club. At a given moment, there is also what happens in selection. I’m sorry, no matter how hard I search, Dembélé’s last big match in the national team has been a while. And Olise, I’m sorry there too, he’s still a little junior in the French team. »

As for the positioning of each party, Pierre Ménès does not believe that there could be a problem. “You can very well put Dembélé up front with Mbappé, played with both up front and put Olise on the right. And then (Desired)
Gifted on the left, or (Bradley) Barcola or whatever. We must not forget that Mbappé has eight goals in the last nine matches for the France team. (…) I am told: ‘When we don’t have an argument, we talk about stats’. But finally the stats in the French team, when you are the second best scorer in the history of the selection, that he is going to break this record, and that you are the best passer in the history of the selection, that your place is called into question… It’s such a completely ridiculous lack of respect. »
