As the 2026 World Cup, organized in the United States, Mexico and Canada, approaches, Thierry Henry was particularly enthusiastic about the chances of the France team. In an interview given to Marcathe former 1998 World Champion believes that the Blues are among the big favorites for the tournament, alongside Argentina and Spain. “We must respect Argentina, the reigning champion. Then there is France, we have a great selection and we reached the last two finals”he recalled, highlighting the exceptional consistency of the Blues in the last major competitions under the Didier Deschamps era.

Henry also emphasizes the difficulty of predicting a winner in such a demanding competition. According to him, Spain impresses with its continuity of play, while Portugal, England and Brazil remain credible contenders for the world title. “I am very optimistic (for France)”he confided, while recalling that a World Cup remains unpredictable due to the calendar, injuries and the lack of preparation of the selections. A lucid analysis from the former Arsenal striker, who despite everything sees France arriving with solid arguments to aim for a new title.
