Apart from the eternally dissatisfied, who didn’t enjoy the Champions League semi-final first leg between PSG and Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening (5-4)? Offensively, we touched perfection, with football that embodies the ideals of many coaches. Pierre Sage is one of them.

On the spectacular side of the game, there were a lot of extraordinary things about this match, confided the Lensois coach at a press conference this Thursday. We remained completely breathless and alert in front of our screens. I admit that I am one of those who prefer to see a match where there is 5-4 rather than 1-0. When we see the level of these teams and the individual level of each player, we realize that the step is very high. When we run behind PSG – even if they run very, very fast – we realize what a beast we have in front of us.”
