Himad Abdelli is attracting attention at Olympique de Marseille, in a context where his role remains limited and his playing time reduced.

Olympique de Marseille is going through a new period of instability. Held in check by OGC Nice (1-1) on Sunday, the Phocéens conceded a second consecutive misstep after the defeat in Lorient (0-2), confirming a worrying dynamic. But beyond the results, it is above all the internal atmosphere which is deteriorating.

Tension rose a notch in the locker room, where a muscular exit by Habib Beye against the replacements, including Himad Abdelli, would have provoked a strong reaction from the latter: “You don’t talk to me like that, you’re not my father, it’s not just me who came in.” A tense scene which required the intervention of several executives to calm things down.

Abdelli wants to be more discreet

In this tense context, the case of the Algerian international, confined to a secondary role, comes back with insistence. In difficulty and affected by his lack of playing time at Olympique de Marseille, the midfielder is going through a delicate period, both physically and mentally. Despite this, a departure would not be on the agenda.

Indeed, according to information from Provencethe former Angevin has no intention of leaving the Marseille club and wants to reverse the trend to regain his best level. To do this, he intends to be more discreet than currently. It now remains to be known the position of Marseille management, which will have to decide on a matter that has become sensitive.
