Present this Thursday in front of the press two days before OM’s trip to Nantes, Habib Beye accused some of the journalists.

The end of the season is complicated for Olympique de Marseille. With the aim of finishing in the qualifying places for the Champions League, the team coached by Habib Beye currently occupies sixth place, four points behind Lille (4th). Traveling this Saturday to Nantes, OM must achieve something. This Thursday, the Marseille coach appeared in front of the press. And he had some criticisms to make of him.

Visibly annoyed by certain rumors relayed by the media, indicating in particular that the tension was palpable within the group, Habib Beye took advantage of the opportunity given to him to put his foot down. He thus accused part of his audience of not respecting the rules and of spreading, according to him, false information.

“About the locker room, I hear a lot of things and I would like people to talk to the locker room. Because what I hear, sometimes, I have the impression that some – and I mean some – and I’m talking about a minority, really lack journalistic ethics. Because, when I see the lies that are put forward about many, many things… I don’t speak out. I have never expressed myself since I have been coaching, I have never been in a position to deny what has been written…”

Habib Beye “not surprised”

And the former Stade Rennais coach continued:
“But honestly, it comes back to me, and when I see certain things, it’s sad because I find that when you don’t have the information, you shouldn’t try to invent it. Either you have it and you give it, but those who invent this type of information on locker room fractures, the coach with this or that player. It is very easy to verify this type of information. You can speak directly to the players or the players’ entourage. »

A little resigned on the subject, Habib Beye concluded.
“When I see what is built around me, I am not surprised. But we will continue to move forward and not worry about what is said. Otherwise we would say that everything that is said in the press would lead me to reconsider my position. This is not the case. I’m very, very good with my players, I talk with them every day, I think I have a very good relationship with them and it’s up to us to show it on Saturday on the pitch. »
