While the first leg between PSG and Bayern was breathtaking (5-4), one aspect of the match posed a problem for Munich coach Vincent Kompany.

It is sometimes said that matches like PSG-Bayern, which end with such a score (5-4), are a treat for the spectators. A little less for the technicians, who would be tempted to remember the fact that the defenses took on water.

Vincent Kompany rather appreciated the behavior of his team. “I was proud in difficult moments, when we were 5-2. The team came back to score, it was incredible”confided the Bayern coach.

“What happened today was a clash of two similar (game) ideassavored the former Manchester City player. Normally, there is a team which withdraws a little, which accepts that the other team imposes its game.

Kompany didn’t hate

On the other hand, there is one thing that Kompany did not like. This is not the position of his players but… his own. Suspended for this match, the Belgian coach had to follow the meeting from the stands. And he admits that he didn’t “not appreciated at all”
experience. “It was a disaster”he confided.

In the mixed zone, Kompany even discussed this subject with his counterpart, Luis Enrique, who had decided in certain matches to watch the first period from the stands to gain perspective. “I told him that I didn’t understand how he could like watching the matches from here (laughs),”
Kompany laughed. When they return next week, they will again be a few meters apart, at the edge of the pitch.
