John Stones announces departure from Man City

It was in the air, it’s now official. John Stones will leave Manchester City at the end of the 2025-26 season. The player announced the news on his account Instagram. “They say all good things must come to an end…but this thing we had was the greatest and it will stay with me forever.” The Skyblues also issued a press release.

“John Stones will leave Manchester City this summer, ending a memorable and successful ten-year spell at the Etihad. Arriving at City in 2016, where he became Pep Guardiola’s second signing, the England central defender has made 293 appearances, capping a magnificent decade of service so far. The 31-year-old’s immense contribution during the longest and most successful period in the club’s history is undeniable. To date, Stones has helped City win 19 major trophies, including six Premier League titles, one UEFA Champions League, two FA Cups, five Carabao Cups, three Community Shields, one FIFA Club World Cup and one UEFA Super Cup. » After Bernardo Silva, Pep Guardiola will lose another former member of his team.
