In search of a new coach to succeed Alvaro Arbeloa, Real Madrid is indeed interested in Didier Deschamps even if he is not the only option considered by the Madrilenians.

Real Madrid is preparing for a tasteless end to the season. Exiting the Copa del Rey prematurely, eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the Merengue are also dropped in La Liga as evidenced by their 11 points behind Barça five days from the end. Condemned to a new white season, the Madrilenians even risk having to make a guard of honor for their best enemies during the next Clasico, in ten days.

Real’s leaders are already thinking ahead to next season and are working behind the scenes to find a new coach. Called to the rescue at the start of winter to replace Xabi Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa failed to seize his chance and will in turn be dismissed at the end of the season.

Since the elimination in the Champions League, many avenues have been mentioned. Jürgen Klopp, Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho would thus appear on the short list drawn up by Florentino Perez. Another name is also regularly mentioned, that of Didier Deschamps.

Didier Deschamps’ entourage contacted

The coach of the Blues will indeed leave his post at the end of the next World Cup and his profile would greatly appeal to the management of Real Madrid, in particular because of his results, whether at the head of the Blues or during his various experiences at club, at Monaco, at Juventus Turin or at Olympique de Marseille.

According to TVE, emissaries from the Madrid club have contacted the former midfielder’s entourage to explore the situation, proving Real Madrid’s interest in the Bayonne native.

But according to La Cope, Real would also be interested in Lionel Scaloni, the Argentina coach, who could also leave his post at the end of the American World Cup. However, his little experience at the head of a club – he was only an assistant for one season at Sevilla FC – would cool some Madrid decision-makers.
