Opposed this Saturday to Southampton, Manchester City turned the match around in the final minutes to qualify for the FA Cup final (2-1).

The ax has not passed far for Manchester City. Despite being very dominant in the FA Cup semi-final which pitted them against Southampton this Saturday, Pep Guardiola’s men found themselves trailing ten minutes from the end of regulation time. But thanks in particular to Jérémy Doku, they reversed the situation to finally win (2-1).

Holder and author of an excellent performance, Rayan Cherki worked hard throughout the match to try to make the difference. But faced with a compact and well-grouped defense, the Cityzens did not find the fault before the break. In a sunny Wembley with a great atmosphere in the stands, the second half resumed on the same basis.

And then came the seventy-ninth minute of play. On a counter, the Saints managed to find the fault through Finn Azaz (0-1). Cold snap in the Mancunian ranks, but furious madness among the Southampton supporters.

Manchester City in FA Cup history

An almost unimaginable scenario, as the Championship residents were so dominated. The problem for them is that their attention dropped slightly in the process and Jérémy Doku was quick to equalize for City (1-1, 83rd). Entering the hour mark, the Belgian international made the difference a second time a few minutes later, this time in the role of passer for Nico Gonzalez, author of an unstoppable shot (2-1, 87th).

Having qualified, Pep Guardiola and his men made a little more history by becoming the first team to qualify for the FA Cup final four times in a row. They will know this Sunday who, Chelsea or Leeds, they will face to try to lift the cup.
