The OM defender did not at all appreciate that the club’s management separated from Roberto De Zerbi last February.

It’s time to settle scores at Olympique de Marseille. Four days before the end of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 financial year, and while the club is provisionally qualified for the Conference League – a failure given the objectives set at the start of the season – tongues are gradually loosening.

The Champions League is moving away, while the players are getting annoyed. This is particularly the case of Facundo Medina. In an interview with RMC Sport, the OM central defender returned to several club decisions that he strongly contests, including that of parting ways with Roberto De Zerbi last February.

“I don’t know how the other players experienced it. It really annoyed me, I was furious”blurted the Argentinian, very annoyed with his management, then made up of Frank McCourt, Pablo Longoria and Medhi Benatia, but also with the tactician himself, replaced by Habib Beye.

“These are blows that hurt”

“It bothered me a lot,” I told Roberto.he confided. “ He and I have a very sincere relationship because we have a bit of the same background. (…) We share a somewhat similar childhood and this fire or this madness that lives within us. That’s why it hurts me a lot when I know that some people make sacrifices to support us, and we can’t repay them for this investment. »

No reason to feel sorry for Facundo Medina either. “His departure hurt, disturbed, but it is our responsibility to continue our mission”he recalled, always near RMC Sport. “We couldn’t control this, we have to own up to our mistakes. I arrived to live a project. Six months later the coach left, then the president, soon Medhi Benatia… These are blows that hurt, and we are human beings, we can be affected. But on a personal level, that will never stop me from entering the field with the desire, the hunger, the will and the attitude. »
