OM are losing their Champions League race. Enough to provoke serious explanations between players.

For Ligue 1 teams who do not have a late match to play, the championship ends in four days. This is the case for Olympique de Marseille which still has to face Nice, Nantes, Le Havre and Rennes. The southern club slipped in the standings this weekend, following its defeat at Lorient (2-0). Enough to cause a few small upheavals in the locker room.

In comments given to RMC this Wednesday, Facundo Medina recounted, without giving too many details, what could have been said between the players. “At the moment, we are half sad or angry at the attitude of certain players. » While taking care not to name anyone, the OM defender nevertheless confirmed that he had had an explanation with several of his teammates.

“I said it to certain players face to face, I won’t tell you by whom, out of respect, but we are talking about players – and I’m going to include myself in this – who have a lot of experience. Some play for the national team, are world champions, European champions. Everyone knows what they give on the pitch (…) and which was not up to par (…). »

Facundo Medina wants to see OM in C1

One thing seems certain for the Phocaean, the time is no longer for a wait-and-see attitude and he is ready to take responsibility.
“Do you want to be with me? Are you going to do it the other way around or are we going to war together? (…) If I have three, four or five players who are with me, ‘vamos’, we go together. »
Facundo Medina also confirmed having “want to play in the Champions League next season”but he also asked: “I want people to respect my club and this jersey. »

Four days before the end of the championship, Marseille is in sixth place in the standings, two points from a place in the Champions League. Everything is still possible and Facundo Medina has just sounded the call for the troops.
