PSG, Dembélé reframes a teammate

Star scorer for Luis Enrique’s PSG and crowned Ballon d’Or 2025, Ousmane Dembélé, who has reached great maturity at 28, does not hesitate to reframe young people in the group.

Ousmane Dembélé is obviously another man, a 28-year-old adult who demonstrates exemplary professionalism while he was a young dribbler with a questionable lifestyle at Borussia Dortmund then at Barça (where he suffered numerous muscle injuries). The 2018 world champion adopted a completely different lifestyle after his arrival at PSG and, transformed into a center forward by Luis Enrique, he took the Rouge et Bleu to the Champions League crown last year and ended up receiving the coveted Ballon d’Or.

“Dembouz” no longer hesitates, in club as in the French team. As proof, he had given tactical instructions to Kylian Mbappé, asking him to take the depth, during the Blues’ friendly meeting against Brazil, on March 26 south of Boston. In the process, the player trained at Stade Rennais put his French captain into orbit for the opener against Auriverde (32nd).

At PSG, Dembélé also gained weight in the Parisian locker room. He is able to rub shoulders with the Spanish-speaking members of the squad, but also to guide his French international teammates as well as the young players tried out by Luis Enrique.

Dembélé and Vitinha intervene

In an article from The Team on the current sidelining of Ibrahim Mbaye, very little used since his return from the African Cup of Nations (which he won on the field with Senegal, before the dismissal decided by CAF), we learn that the young winger has impeccable behavior at the PSG Campus. On the other hand, one or two young players called up to the first team during the exercise lacked seriousness and were reclassified by Ousmane Dembélé and Vitinha. Bosses.

The reigning Ballon d’Or is expected to gain momentum in the coming days, for the final sprint in Ligue 1 and especially the C1 semi-final against Bayern (Tuesday 28 at the Parc des Princes, Wednesday May 6 in Munich). Dembélé remains on doubles against Toulouse then Liverpool. He has 10 league goals and four on the European stage so far – compared to 21 and 8 in these competitions in 2024-25.
