At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Tottenham welcomed Brighton for this 33rd day of the Premier League in a competitive and fast-paced match. Spurs opened the scoring in the 39th minute thanks to Porro, well served by Simons, and then seemed to be in control. However, the visitors reacted just before the break. Indeed, Mitoma equalized in added time (45th+3), following a pass from Gross, allowing Brighton to return to the locker room, thus promising a thrilling second act.

In the second half, Tottenham believed in it until the end and thought they had a precious victory after Simons’ sensational goal in the 77th minute, ideally served by Bergvall. But in a completely stunning finale, Brighton snatched the equalizer in added time through Rutter (90th+5), sealing a spectacular draw (2-2). The visitors had thus snatched an unexpected point, at the end of a completely unbridled end to the match, leaving De Zerbi’s Spurs in a technical knockout. In the standings, Tottenham is still in great danger with this 18th place.
