Woe to the vanquished this evening! Chelsea host Manchester United in their Stamford Bridge lair and, more than usual, neither team will want to lose. As for the Blues, nothing is assured for qualification for the European Cup next season, they who are tied on points with Brentford and Bournemouth and less than three points from Brighton, Everton and Sunderland. As for the Red Devils, Aston Villa could remove them from the podium and Liverpool remove them from the qualifying places for the Champions League.

Liam Rosenior counts on a 4-2-3-1. Back from suspension, Enzo Fernandez is in the double-pivot alongside Caicedo, but since his release from Real Madrid, the Argentinian has not regained his captain’s armband. There will be two French people on the pitch with Gusto and Fofana. Delap was preferred to Joao Pedro for the number 9 position. Mickael Carrick uses the same system as the former Strasbourg coach. In central defense, it will be an experimental doublet with Heaven and Mazraoui placed back in the axis due to the expulsion of Martinez against Leeds and the injury to Yoro. Mainoo finds a place in the midfield alongside Casemiro. Mbeumo starts as a right winger.

The official compositions:

Chelsea: Sanchez – Gusto, Fofana, Hato, Cucurella – Caicedo, Enzo – Estevao, Palmer, Neto – Delap

Manchester United: Lammens – Dalot, Mazraoui, Heaven, , Shaw – Casemiro, Mainoo – Mbeumo, Fernandes, Cunha – Sesko
