Morgan Rogers was recruited in February 2024 for less than €10 million by Aston Villa, in Middlesbrough. 2 years later, it could be worth more than 10 times as much. It’s 100 million pounds, or €115 million, that will have to be paid to snatch him from the Villans, who intend to take advantage of the ever-increasing interest in his 23-year-old attacking midfielder. It must be said that Rogers has become an indisputable starter for the Birmingham club and an increasingly important element of the English selection, under the leadership of coach Thomas Tuchel.

At present, it is he who could start in support of Harry Kane at the World Cup, rather than Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden or Cole Palmer. Enough to add to the hype surrounding the player among the sports directors of many European leaders. As listed in Daily Telegraphmany of them have checked Rogers’ name: Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich… and Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United favorite?

The capital club is cited among courtiers as a “great admirer” of the 23-year-old player. The latter, however, signed a new contract with Aston Villa last November, extending his lease until 2031. Which would not be an obstacle to a possible transfer, but which would considerably inflate the purchase price. Happy at Aston Villa, thriving under the orders of Unai Emery, Morgan Rogers will not seek to leave at all costs this summer, but faced with a major offer, he, like his club, will think about the situation.

However, one club seems to stand out in the race to sign the England international: Manchester United. The Red Devils want to regain their former glory, to find the player who will embody the renewal. Rogers ticks a lot of boxes, and guess who coached him during the first part of the 2023-2024 season, spent at Middlesbrough? A certain Michael Carrick, currently stationed at MU and well on his way to being extended beyond this season.
