Dortmund: the price of Nico Schlotterbeck’s clause revealed

After a long series concerning his future, Nico Schlotterbeck finally extended his contract at Borussia Dortmund until 2031 last week. A contract extension which makes the German international (25 caps) one of the highest paid players at the Ruhr club. However, his future could still be written far from Dortmund after this summer.

According to Sky Germanythe 26-year-old has a release clause estimated between 50 and 60 million euros. Long mentioned as a potential destination in the event of BVB’s departure, Real Madrid is notably one of the teams likely to lift this clause, after the 2026 World Cup, the German media still reports.
