The convincing victory of the France team against Colombia (3-1) during this international break not only confirmed the good momentum of the Blues. It also revived bad memories for the South American selection, which had not suffered a defeat of such magnitude since November 17, 2020 against Ecuador (6-1) during qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. Dominated in the game and overwhelmed by the French offensives, Colombia has long seemed incapable of containing the French intensity and collective precision.

Buoyed in particular by Désiré Doué’s double and a goal from Marcus Thuram, Didier Deschamps’ men quickly took control of the match to lead 3-0 before the hour mark. Despite a late score reduction, the Cafeteros rarely gave the impression of being able to turn the situation around. A solid performance from the Blues which leaves its mark on the Colombian side and confirms the impression that France is gaining strength in the run-up to the 2026 World Cup on North American soil.
