Four days after beating Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League, Bayern Munich swept aside Sankt Pauli (0-5) for the 29th day of the Bundesliga. Despite a reshuffled team, with seven changes compared to Tuesday, Vincent Kompany’s Bavarians delivered a serious performance against the barrage. After just nine minutes of play, Jamal Musiala placed an unstoppable header for Nikola Vasilj, following a cross from Laimer. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder then scored the Munich club’s 101st goal in BL during this 2025/2026 financial year, thus equaling the record established during the 1971/1972 season.

A record that Bayern broke in the 53rd minute, when Leon Goretzka made the break. The German midfielder then became a decisive passer for Michael Olise (54th), author of his 17th goal of the season. Nicolas Jackson, starting in place of Harry Kane, scored the fourth goal for the Bavarians (65th) before Raphaël Guerreiro put an end to the recital with a fifth goal at the end of the game (88th). With this 24th victory after 29 days and with 12 points ahead of Dortmund (who lost to Leverkusen), Bayern Munich is more than ever on track to win its 35th German Champion title.
