OM are reportedly interested in Dani Olmo, the Spanish international for FC Barcelona. But is such an option credible?

It is the Spanish rumor which is calling attention these days. According to the Catalan daily Sport, Dani Olmo could arrive at OM next summer. An economic necessity for FC Barcelona – the market value of the person concerned remains high while the Blaugrana coffers are empty.

Yes, but there you have it, OM has just recorded a record deficit and will not necessarily have the means to flare up during the next off-season either. Except for selling a Mason Greenwood whose price promises to rise this summer. Particularly on the Spanish side.

The potential interest of clubs is clear in this matter, but what would it be for the main interested party? At 27, the midfielder is at the top of his game, credited this season with seven goals and seven assists in 25 La Liga matches (plus a small goal scored in eight Champions League outings).

A salary that is difficult to afford

Recently according to the Iberian press, the former Leipzig player refused a Saudi gold bridge, preferring to exercise his talents in Europe. A qualification for the next edition of the C1 therefore proves essential for OM to attract elements of such caliber into its net.

Beyond the 50 to 60 million euros that such reinforcement could cost, paying his salary will be another pair of sleeves for the Olympians. At Barça, Dani Olmo earns around 780,000 euros gross per month. A salary comparable to what Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could receive during his first Marseille break. In an era that now seems to be over.
