Second in the Bundesliga but relegated nine points behind Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund is having a contrasting season. Capable of good performances, the BVB also displayed frustrating irregularity, symbolized by its defeat in the 1/8 final of the Cup against Leverkusen (0-1), then by its premature elimination in the Champions League play-offs against Atalanta Bergamo (2-0 in the first leg, 4-1 in the return). In this context, the Ruhr club is already looking towards the future with the ambition of correcting its shortcomings and regaining a more stable dynamic.

This new cycle will be embodied by Ole Book, recently appointed sports director to replace Sebastien Kehl on March 25. The 40-year-old German leader arrives with a reputation built on his ability to promote young talents. Responsible for rebuilding a squad set to evolve, with the announced departures of players like Julian Brandt and Niklas SĂĽle (and with the interminable Nico Schlotterbeck file), Book has already set to work to strengthen Niko KovaÄŤ’s squad and seems to have turned towards Ligue 1, where two names stand out strongly.

Dortmund ready to go on the offensive

According to information from Sky SportsDiego Moreira (21) is one of Borussia Dortmund’s priorities for the next summer transfer window. An indisputable starter at Racing Club de Strasbourg, the Belgian international (2 caps) has established himself as one of the best elements of the Alsatian team and one of the best talents in the championship since his arrival in August 2024. Under contract until 2029, he could nevertheless be the subject of a transfer this summer, for an amount estimated between 30 and 40 million euros.

At the same time, the German club is also monitoring Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal (19 years old). Launched this season by Habib Beye, the young defender trained at Stade Rennais appears to be a credible option to strengthen Borussia’s defensive axis. Two profiles that Ole Book hopes to attract to strengthen this Dortmund team and which once again confirm the persistent interest of German clubs in young talents from the French championship.
