Roy Keane marked his era, and particularly that of Manchester United. A defensive midfielder, the Irishman was renowned for his ferocity on the green rectangle. With the Red Devils, he won everything and experienced many moments of joy. This Saturday, on the other hand, it was a terrible pain that he shared.

On his social networks, he posted a photo to modestly announce, in his own way, that his mother was no more. To accompany the photo representing him with his mother, Roy Keane added a few words: “You will always be the boss. » A publication which led to incalculable reactions of support.

Several former teammates of the fifty-four-year-old Irishman posted hearts in support. Whether it is David Beckham, Gary and Phil Neville or even Raimond van der Gouw, the Red Devils have not forgotten their former playmate.

Other former players joined the tribute: Anton Ferdinand, Robbie Keane, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher leading the way. The day before, Roy Keane’s family announced the death of Marie Keane, “peacefully, surrounded by his family and with the attention of doctors, nurses and employees” from Marymount University Hospital and Hospice, Cork.

Roy Keane was very close to his mother whom he did not hesitate to visit in her hometown, especially since the disappearance of his father, Maurice, in 2019. Marie Keane’s funeral will take place on Monday March 30.
