A significant influx of money is looming for Sevilla thanks to Jules Koundé. The French defender, transferred to Barça in the summer of 2022, has almost fulfilled the conditions provided for in the agreement between the two clubs to trigger a payment of 2.5 million euros per season until 2027 according to Estadio Deportivo. For this bonus to be paid, Koundé must play at least 45 minutes in 60% of the official matches of the season, a goal largely achieved with 34 matches already played this season, pending Barça’s run in the Champions League.
Indeed, Sevilla could therefore receive this supplement from the month of April, despite the player’s recent injury in the Copa del Rey which kept him away from the field for several weeks. The Andalusian club thus benefits from a welcome financial windfall in a delicate context, and will be able to continue to receive this income next season thanks to the extension of Koundé’s contract with Barça until 2030.
