Bayer Leverkusen have activated Kerim Alajbegovic’s buyout clause for the summer of 2026, allowing the young left winger to return from RB Salzburg for a fee of eight million euros, according to Sky Germany. The 18-year-old striker, originally from Cologne, left Leverkusen last summer for Salzburg for 2 to 2.5 million euros, signing a contract until 2029. This decision therefore marks an early return to the German club, where he was trained.

Despite this return, Alajbegovic’s future remains uncertain. Several major Italian clubs have already inquired about the young talent, author this season of 11 goals and three assists in all competitions. Bayer Leverkusen will therefore have to quickly define its role in the squad, while monitoring external interests to secure the future of the promising player.
