Tuesday evening, CAF decided to withdraw the African champion title from Senegal and grant victory on the green carpet to Morocco. A decision widely commented on and contested by some. Asked about the subject at a press conference this Thursday, Didier Deschamps was rather direct.

“The title of Morocco? I am surprised by this decision, as I think all of you are. It’s been 2 months since the African champion title. Now apparently it’s on the legal level (what’s happening, editor’s note), it’s not in my area. It’s surprising to say the least, I’m not going to say more.”.
