Didier Deschamps unveiled his list this Thursday for the two friendly matches scheduled against Ancelotti’s Brazil, on March 26 in Boston, then against Colombia, three days later at Northwest Stadium in Landover (Maryland), near Washington DC. These two tests will then bring the Blues to their last two preparation matches against Ivory Coast, on June 4 in Nantes, then on June 8 in Lille against an opponent who remains to be determined. This match will certainly have a strong value for the local boy Lucas Chevalier, whose presence is still unknown between now and the World Cup.

What we do know, however, is that the PSG goalkeeper will be part of the group of players selected for the Blues’ tour of the United States this month, as the coach announced at a press conference. “His last match dates back to January 26 (with PSG), since then he has been in a much more complicated situation without playing time. It has often happened to me with important players in difficulty at the club – especially on the field – to reach out, it’s part of the relationship of trust.

Chevalier goes number 3 in Blues

Deschamps, however, announced that Lucas Chevalier was now number 3 in the hierarchy, behind Brice Samba. “Lucas has been with us for a little over a yearreminds the coach. The situation is not ideal for him, but I spoke with him, it is not in a role of number 2 that he is taken, but of number 3. He has not lost his value, he remains active. If it will change to the next list? I don’t know, I hope for him, I’m not putting pressure on PSG or Luis Enrique.”

Should Deschamps “reach out” to Lucas Chevalier who does not play for PSG?

Image generation in progress

Deschamps also mentioned other burning issues during his press conference, such as that of Ayyoub Bouaddi, with whom he said he had never spoken. The Lille midfielder was not summoned, neither with France, nor with Morocco for this truce. “Yes, I saw that he had not been selected with Morocco, he has this freedom to choose, I am not here to take it away from him. I haven’t interacted with him, it’s not my way of working but obviously we follow his performances.
