Emre Can will still be in the Borussia Dortmund tunic next season! Currently injured and sidelined from the Bundesliga pitches since rupturing the cruciate ligaments in his left knee last February, the midfielder has just extended his contract for one year with BVB. Indeed, the German club has just published a press release on its official website to announce the news. This signing therefore commits the 32-year-old player to his training until June 30, 2027. As a reminder, his contract ran until the end of the season, but the managers preferred to trust him and bring him into their future projects.

The leader of the midfield of the men in yellow also reacted in the club’s columns. “I am delighted to continue to be part of Borussia Dortmund. BVB is a special club and I would like to express my sincere thanks for their support. My goal is to recover as quickly as possible, get back on the pitch with my teammates and enjoy success with the club.”. At the same time, BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl detailed this decision. “Emre is important in our team, both on and off the pitch. We recognize his importance in the dressing room and the experience he brings. We will support him closely on his road to recovery and are confident that he will return to full fitness.”.
