Unlike Paris Saint-Germain, who were able to postpone their Ligue 1 match against FC Nantes, Chelsea were playing this weekend. In the middle of
their double Champions League confrontationthe Blues lost at Stamford Bridge, against Newcastle (0-1), during the 30th day of the Premier League.

English international Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the match in the 18th minute of play. An embarrassing defeat for Liam Rosenior’s men, three days before the reception of the reigning European champions for the round of 16 second leg of the C1.

Especially since this setback risks moving them further away from directly qualifying places for the next league phase of this competition. Indeed, Manchester United and Aston Villa, respectively third and fourth in the standings, will face each other on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Arsenal snatches victory at the end of the match

At the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal defeated Everton at the very end of the match (2-0). A close victory, thanks to the achievements of Swede Viktor Gyökeres and Max Dowman, which allowed the Gunners to consolidate their leadership position.

Mikel Arteta’s men are now ten points ahead of Manchester City, but also two games ahead. Victory will be imperative for the Cityzens,
this Saturday evening against West Hamto hope to stay in the title race.
