Jules Koundé will be missed by FC Barcelona but also by the French team. Victim of a hamstring injury, “in the 3rd third of the biceps femoris of the left thigh”, during the semi-final return of the Spanish Cup against Atlético Madrid (3-0), the French right-back should remain away from the field for around a month.

The former Bordeaux player should be unavailable for the Champions League round of 16 first and second legs against Newcastle on March 10 and 18. The Blaugranas will have to cope without him during the trip to Athletic Bilbao on March 7, as well as for the receptions of Sevilla FC and Rayo Vallecano, scheduled for March 15 and 25.

The Parisian solution

Same concern for Didier Deschamps, who risks being without one of his executives for the friendly matches against Brazil and Colombia on March 26 and 29. According to Canal+the Blues coach would consider calling on Warren Zaire-Emery to occupy the right flank of the defense.

Author of solid performances with Paris Saint-Germain this season, the young versatile midfielder will serve as understudy for Malo Gusto (Chelsea FC). Another player could then be called up in order to strengthen the French midfielder and compensate for this repositioning.
