On July 14, 2023, after a successful season under the banner of RC Lens marked by 21 goals and four assists accumulated in 42 matches – Lois Openda left for a total budget approaching 50 million euros, heading to Leipzig for a new five-year lease. 24 months later, despite 41 goals to his credit in 93 outings with the RB, the Belgian striker changed scenery again, loaned to Juve for the 2025-2026 financial year.

To date, however, the Piedmontese transplant has not really taken off. Since playing for the Bianconero jersey, Lois Openda has only scored two goals in 29 appearances in all competitions. A very average performance for the fifth most used attacker in the Turin squad, ahead of Edon Zhegrova, certainly, but well behind Kenan Yildiz, Jonathan David, Dusan Vlahovic and Francisco Conceiçao.

A new transfer difficult to achieve

In Italy, rumors are already suggesting that the former Blood and Gold could be exfiltrated next off-season. The media Blasting News, in its transalpine version, affirms that OM would be in the running to welcome the 26-year-old player this summer. “ Marseille would consider recruiting the Bianconero striker to strengthen its squad during the next summer transfer window and could decide to start concrete negotiations ”, we can read in the publication mentioned.

Big downside however, the floor price mentioned in this article amounts to 35 million euros. More or less the investment made a few months ago by the Olympians to secure the services of Brazilian winger Igor Paixao. While OM is going through a deep institutional crisis, with Pablo Longoria announced to be leaving in particular, it is difficult to imagine such a bet on the part of the Phocaeans during the upcoming market.
