Newly arrived at Sevilla FC on loan with option to buy, Neal Maupay (29 years old) found a smile again in Andalusia. Author of a more than delicate season at Olympique de Marseille, due to his short playing time under De Zerbi, the Spanish club’s striker had to get back on track. The current fifteenth in La Liga welcomed him during the winter window with great ambitions. These have also borne fruit since he scored in his first appearance against Mallorca last weekend (4-1). Furthermore, the French striker would have had valuable advice before coming to his new team, in particular thanks to the help of Geoffrey Kondogbia, himself spent by Sevilla between 2012 and 2014.

“I spoke to him, after the first meetings with the club I wanted to know more about his experience. He told me it was a great club and an incredible city. He told me that I had to come 100%, I was already sure of my decision, but this added more security. I’ve been told only good things about Sevila and I’m very happy. Talking is good, but we have to win games and make the situation improve” he declared in ABC. An awareness and a second wind which will give hope to Maupay. At 29 years old, the striker who played in the Premier League is therefore looking for new sensations on the Spanish pitches, in order to avoid the red zone in this second part of the season.
