Knocked down on the gong by Manchester City this Sunday (2-1), Liverpool had to react. Traveling to Sunderland, who had three defeats in five matches, the Reds wanted to get things going again. For a long time, the domination was quite sterile for Arne Slot’s team and resulted in a goalless first act.

In the second half, it was from a corner that Mohamed Salah crossed towards the far post where Virgil van Dijk’s header was lodged on the left of the goal while Habib Diarra could only deflect into the back of his own net (1-0, 61st). Led, Sunderland reacted and pushed Liverpool back. Reds who were able to hold on until the end to win 1-0. Still sixth in the Premier League, Liverpool are three points behind the top 4 and Manchester United.
