It’s a release that made noise in Germany. Former Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels (37) spoke on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Champions League match between Borussia and Atalanta (2-0), on Amazon Prime. These daring remarks were aimed at the Munich club and were not really kind to the team led by Vincent Kompany. “I see the Bavarians more uncertain at the moment. Until a few weeks ago, they would have been one of the top three favorites for the Champions League title for me. I’ve seen a lot of games over the last few weeks where they’ve really gone down.”he sent into the microphone. Despite his criticism, Hummels still suggested to the public that a confidence at the top of the ranking was present in his mind.

“There are now a lot of players who have just returned like Alphonso Davies (after a cruciate ligament rupture) or Jamal Musiala (after his calf injury). The others may have been a little overwhelmed because they all have to play. The issues mentioned can all be fixed with time and the necessary regeneration. I can imagine that at the end of March we will be talking about Bayern being one of the three favorites for the Champions League again.”. The 2014 World Champion therefore seems well aware of the team’s impressive performances this season. For their part, the players in Bavaria continue their exercise by crushing the competition (Bundesliga leader).
