Arsenal formalized the extension of its star Bukayo Saka this Thursday. The English striker has extended his lease until June 2031 with the Premier League team, a strong gesture from the player, but also from the club, whose collaboration does not seem ready to end.
After signing his new contract, the 24-year-old wisp expressed his optimism for the continuation of his adventure at the Emirates. According to him, the Gunners, still in search of the English championship title which has eluded them for 22 years, are on the verge of taking a new step.
“We will reach a milestone”
“The journey that I have followed, from my beginnings until today, as well as that of the team, is quite special. I think the next few years will be the ones where we reach a milestone, where we win trophies and where we make history at this club. We are back where we belong: finally ready to fight for everything. When I look back on my career, I want to be able to remember a kid who started at the age of seven or eight trying out for Arsenal and then did everything he could to win every trophy he could. This is the legacy I want to leave”said Saka.
Current leader of the championship with five points ahead of runner-up Manchester City, Arsenal will still have to fight to conquer the Kingdom. Mikel Arteta’s men are also competing in the FA Cup, Champions League and League Cup, with a final scheduled against the Skyblues on March 22.
