A firecracker thrown from the Inter stand caused a huge scare during the Serie A match between Cremonese and the Nerazzurri. Affected by the shock wave, goalkeeper Emil Audero injured his thigh and right ear, but refused to be replaced, showing remarkable courage and finishing the match on the field. Akanji and other players, along with coach Chivu, rushed to check on his conditions and calm the stands, while the incident caused panic in the stands and outside the stadium according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The perpetrator was quickly identified: while handling the firecracker, he lost three fingers and was hospitalized… He will also be arrested. On a sporting level, Inter escaped a match cancellation thanks to the reaction of the goalkeeper, and the result of 0-2 is well validated. The Milanese company will nevertheless have to pay a heavy fine, and the “tifoseria” could suffer severe sanctions, going as far as the closure of the Curva Nord de San Siro for several matches.
